Barcelona confirmed on Friday that they had completed the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United, ending a transfer saga that had linked the England winger with a move to the LaLiga champions for weeks.
Gordon was unveiled by the club on Friday. He answered part of the media conference in Spanish.
Gordon has signed a five-year contract and was presented to the press in the evening. Barcelona did not disclose the fee, but British media reported that the deal was worth about £69.3m (80m) inclusive of add-ons.

The 25-year-old arrives in Spain...
The 25-year-old arrives in Spain after a strong season for Newcastle, where he scored 17 goals in all competitions, including 10 in 12 Champions League matches.
Barcelona said in a statement that Gordon arrived after being Newcastle’s top scorer last season and the player who took on the most dribbles. The club also noted that he impressed in his three appearances against Barcelona in last season’s Champions League, including the round-of-16 tie between the sides.
Newcastle, meanwhile, finished 12th in the Premier League and missed out on European football.
"From my first day, the people took to me straight away when they didn't have to and I'll never be able to say thank you enough."

The dream, at last, made flesh
At his unveiling, Gordon said the move had long been on his mind. “I was excited to play for Barca (since) I was three years of age,” he said, adding that he had wanted to learn Spanish because, as a child, he believed he would one day play for the Catalan club.
Sky Sports also quoted him as saying: “As soon as I knew Barca was a serious option, there was never any question. I always wanted Barca.” He added that the chance to play alongside Lamine Yamal and other Barcelona players was “very exciting” and that he was ready for the challenge.

The final act of a busy pursuit
Gordon joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023 for £45 million and went on to make 152 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals and providing 28 assists.
His move comes after Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said earlier this month that discussions over a possible summer exit could take place, and after reports that Bayern Munich had also shown interest.
Barcelona, who have now sealed the transfer before the World Cup, did not comment on the reported fee beyond confirming the agreement.
