OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu has resigned at a time when the company is facing a sharp decline in market share in its biggest international market. His exit comes after a difficult year for the brand, with sales dropping significantly.

In a statement, OnePlus said, "We thank Robin for his contributions and wish him the very best as he moves on to pursue personal passions," adding that “business continuity” will continue under its local strategy.

However, the company has not yet announced a successor.

According to IDC data, OnePlus’ India sales fell 38.8% year-on-year in 2025. At the same time, competitors like Apple and Samsung strengthened their hold in the premium smartphone segment. Once known as a “flagship killer” brand, OnePlus has seen its premium positioning weaken, with its Nord series being seen as a factor behind this shift.

Robin Liu served as the CEO of OnePlus India Pvt. Ltd. and played a key role in expanding the brand in one of its most important markets. His resignation now comes at a time when the company is facing challenges in maintaining its position in the premium segment

His exit has also revived speculation about OnePlus’ future outside China. Reports suggest that Oppo, which controls OnePlus, may be planning a major restructuring. Under a new “unified” model, OnePlus and Realme are reportedly being managed together under Realme CEO Sky Li.

Despite these concerns, OnePlus has maintained that operations will continue as usual. The company has announced plans to launch the Nord 6 in India, featuring a 9,000 mAh battery, in a move aimed at strengthening its presence in the budget segment.
