You can send messages. But it won't require the internet. This message is not SMS though. The way messages are sent on Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram or other social media platforms, this app will do the same thing without any internet connection.

Now you might think, this is just a story! It's not at all. Such an app has been created by the co-founder of X or former Twitter. Jack Dorsey's new master blaster app is called BitChat. This app will run solely on Bluetooth.

How BitChat works without internet

Let's see how this innovative app will work. For messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram, internet is a must. But BitChat will work completely differently. Only Bluetooth will be needed. Basically, it will work following a peer-to-peer model. That means messages can be sent from one mobile to another mobile using Bluetooth.

In this case, mobiles will handle sending and receiving. How will you know who you can send this message to? What Dorsey has mentioned in his social media post is that two or more people within a specific range can exchange messages using BitChat. When searching for Bluetooth, multiple zones or frequencies are available on mobile. A specific one is selected from among them to send messages. This is peer-to-peer technology. This new platform will work following this model.

Advance information about its range has also been received. Generally Bluetooth works within a 100-meter range. However, this app's range will be up to 300 meters. There is no public medium for sending messages this far without internet. So from that perspective, BitChat is going to be different. This is not the end, BitChat will also have chat room options.

This means like other chatting mediums, you can open a chat room on this medium too and many people can sit together and chat. So separate chat rooms for friends and family can be created very easily. As messages are exchanged this way, a Bluetooth cluster will be formed. Users will join that cluster. Again they will leave and go out. But conversations will continue.

Currently the app is in experimental stage. iPhone users will be able to use it very soon. After reading this report so far, you might think the app won't be very useful. But what the app makers have thought has a different kind of application. There is an atmosphere of war and emergency situations around the world now. Whenever there is unrest, the internet is shut down. In such situations, this app will play a very effective role. How will messages go if electricity or internet is shut down during emergencies? The app was born from that thought. So what's wrong with keeping it as SOS?
