ECI to send 15 Bengal IPS officers as observers for polls in other states; who’s on the list?

The Election Commission has deputed 15 IPS officers from West Bengal as observers for the upcoming assembly elections in other states.

The Election Commission has decided to deploy 15 IPS officers from the state as observers for the upcoming assembly elections in other states. The list includes police commissioners from various commissionerates as well as district superintendents of police. According to sources, the selected officers include Murlidhar Sharma, Syed Waqar Raja, Alok Rajoria, Indira Mukhopadhyay, and Akash Magharia, among others.

These officers will be assigned as observers for the assembly elections in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The Election Commission has appointed IPS Murlidhar Sharma and IPS Syed Waqar Raja as observers for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Murlidhar Sharma is currently the Police Commissioner of Bidhannagar. Waqar Raja is the Police Commissioner of Siliguri.

IPS Abhijit Bandyopadhyay has been sent to Kerala, IPS Dhritiman Sarkar to Kerala, IPS Sandeep Karra to Nagaland (by-election), and IPS Amandeep to Tamil Nadu as observers.
