Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday announced the rollout of Ayushman cards from July and a statewide cervical cancer vaccination drive starting May 30, in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s healthcare delivery.
The announcements came after a meeting with senior officials, followed by a press conference at Nabanna.
Ayushman cards rollout from July
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said, “From July, distribution of Ayushman cards will begin.”

He added that more than 6 crore beneficiaries currently covered under the Swasthya Sathi scheme will be brought under the Ayushman initiative. The administration has been directed to ensure a smooth transition and wider coverage.
Those who are not enrolled under Swasthya Sathi will also be included in phases, expanding the reach of the scheme across the state.
Cervical cancer vaccination drive from May 30
The Chief Minister also announced that a preventive vaccination programme against cervical cancer will begin on May 30.

“This vaccination drive will be carried out under the central government’s programme,” he said.
As part of the initiative, more than 7 lakh minor girls across the state are expected to receive the vaccine dose.
The twin announcements signal a push to widen healthcare access and preventive care coverage. Officials have been asked to coordinate implementation to ensure both schemes reach beneficiaries without delays.
