“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote.
He further added, “I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”
A day earlier, Trump had also described the ongoing Iran conflict as “bad timing” for the family event.

Following Trump’s statement, the White House announced revised travel plans. The President was earlier expected to spend the weekend at his golf resort in New Jersey, but officials later confirmed he would stay back in the US capital instead.
Trump did not elaborate on the exact reasons behind the decision. However, the announcement comes amid increasing international tensions and diplomatic activity linked to the Middle East conflict.
