Aaradhya Bachchan makes debut at Cannes Film Festival with Aishwarya Rai, internet reacts

Aishwarya Rai may have arrived at the Cannes Film Festival in another headline-making look, but this time, it was her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan who became one of the biggest talking points online. The 14-year-old made her official debut at a glamorous Cannes event on Friday evening, walking alongside her mother and instantly grabbing attention on social media.

Earlier in the day, Aishwarya turned heads in a dramatic royal blue couture gown at the festival. Later in the evening, the actor made a second appearance for L'Oréal Paris’ annual Lights on Women's Worth awards, choosing a softer and more elegant look.

For the event, Aishwarya wore a pastel pink Sophie Couture gown featuring a strapless corseted bodice, Fortuny pleating and Swarovski-crystal floral 3D embellishments. The outfit was completed with a flowing cape.

Aaradhya steals the spotlight

However, it was Aaradhya’s appearance that quickly became the highlight for many fans online. She arrived in a ruby-red gown paired with a matching cape, keeping her look simple yet striking. Aaradhya styled her hair in loose curls with a side parting for the event.

Several videos shared online showed Aishwarya holding Aaradhya’s hand as they left their hotel and headed to the event venue. Photos of the mother-daughter duo posing together soon began circulating across social media platforms, drawing reactions from fans.

"The most gorgeous mother with her most gorgeous daughter," wrote one reacting to the mother-daughter duo. Unable to contain their excitement, another wrote, "Would you just LOOK at these two??? I caaannnnn'ttttt!!!!"

From people calling them "real life barbies" to beautiful mother-daughter duo, the internet was full of praise. "Aishwarya is very graceful .. noone can beat her charm... She always conducts herself as very powerfull yet in a classy way... And she is a loving, caring mother who is always there for her daughter making sure she is protected, cared and nurtured," wrote one.

Aishwarya’s return to Cannes

Aishwarya’s appearance at Cannes this year came after days of speculation around whether she would attend the festival. For her first outing, she wore a royal blue couture creation by designer Amit Aggarwal.

Per a report by Hindustan Times, according to the designer, the gown was imagined in collaboration with stylist Mohit Rai as an exploration of “radiance in motion, the couture silhouette is realised through the house’s signature Crystal Vein embroidery, where thousands of crystalline embellishments converge within sculptural lattice-like structures to create an interplay of luminosity, depth, and fluidity”.

Aishwarya also reunited with actor Eva Longoria during the event. The two greeted each other warmly as cameras captured the moment. Aishwarya has been attending Cannes regularly since 2003 as a L’Oréal ambassador.
