West Bengal HS result 2026 declared: 91.23% pass, girls lead - here’s how to check scores

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) declared the West Bengal Class 12 Higher Secondary (HS) Result 2026 on May 14 at 10:30 AM. Students can begin checking their scorecards online from 11 AM onwards. This year, more than 7 lakh candidates appeared for the examination across the state.

The board recorded an overall pass percentage of 91.23%, reflecting a strong performance by students. As in previous years, girls have performed better than boys. The pass percentage among female candidates stands at 92.47%, while boys recorded 89.79%.

Girls continue to lead performance

The gender gap in performance remains evident, with girls securing a higher success rate. The number of female candidates also exceeded that of boys this year, with over 63,000 more girls appearing for the examination. This trend highlights a steady rise in female participation and achievement in the state’s higher secondary education system.

Toppers list for 2026

Among the top performers, Adhrito Pal secured Rank 1 with 496 marks out of 500, translating to 99.2%. The second position was shared by Krishno Kundu, Hritobroto Nath, and Parikhito, each scoring 495 marks, or 99%.

Where to check WB HS result 2026?

Students can access their provisional marksheets through multiple online platforms. The official websites include the WBCHSE portal and the state result website.

Candidates need to enter their roll number and required login credentials to view and download their results. The online marksheet is provisional, and students must collect their original documents from their respective schools later.

Distribution of original documents

The board has started distributing hard copies of marksheets, pass certificates, and registration certificates from 11 AM on the same day. Schools across West Bengal will facilitate the process for students.

Alongside the results, WBCHSE is expected to release detailed statistics, including district-wise performance, stream-wise results, and a complete list of toppers. These details are typically shared during the official press briefing following the announcement.
