A cyclist died in a tragic accident when a goods-laden truck overturned. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon near Hirakhani More under Chandrapur police station in Birbhum. According to police sources, the cyclist died at the spot. The identity of the deceased person was not known until Thursday evening.

Local residents said the killer truck was heading from Kolkata towards Rajnagar. The truck was packed with goods. Police's preliminary assumption is that the truck somehow lost control and overturned. Due to this, the cyclist got crushed. The driver of the killer truck is absconding. The truck has been seized by Chandrapur police station in Birbhum.
Rescue operation and police action
Upon receiving news of the incident, a large police force from Chandrapur police station reached the area. JCB and crane were brought in. Fire brigade personnel also reached the spot. They rescued the person trapped under the truck. Later it was found that the person had died. The body has been sent by Chandrapur police station to Suri Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
