Due to dense fog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's helicopter could not land in Taherpur on Saturday. It has returned to Kolkata airport. It has been learned that he is at the Kolkata airport at 12:30 PM. According to sources, Modi may reach Taherpur by road.
Narendra Modi was scheduled to hold administrative and political meetings in Taherpur under the Ranaghat Lok Sabha constituency in Nadia on Saturday. Party leaders, workers, and supporters have been gathering since morning for this purpose.
A temporary helipad had been set up near Modi's meeting venue at Netaji Park ground in Taherpur. The Prime Minister's helicopter was supposed to land there. He arrived at Kolkata airport at 10:33 AM today. Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya and Chief Secretary Manoj Pant welcomed him there on behalf of the state. After that, Modi departed for Taherpur by helicopter. However, the concerned area has been covered in fog since this morning. Due to very low visibility, the helicopter returned to Kolkata. According to sources, he is going to Taherpur by road. For now, senior leaders of the state BJP are speaking on the political stage there.
Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately 3,200 crores from Taherpur. He will also address the political meeting today.
