Donald Trump triggered a wave of reactions on social media on Wednesday after 5 times in 13 seconds declaring victory in the ongoing conflict with Iran during a rally in Hebron, Kentucky.

“You have to be careful,” he said moments later, appearing to partially walk back the earlier claim.

The POTUS was addressing supporters at the Verst Logistics venue when he spoke at length about the recent US-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

“We’ve won," Trump said. "You never like to say too early that you’ve won, but we’ve won. In the first hour, it was over.”

Trump's statements quickly spread across social media platforms

Critics pointed out that US military installations in the region remain on alert and that tensions have not yet fully subsided. The US has also ordered the precautionary evacuation of embassy staff and diplomats from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

“Trump declares victory in Iran war despite not bringing our troops home and not achieving any measurable goals other than blowing up an all-girls elementary school,” one user wrote.

“All he has done is bomb an elementary school and murder 170 Iranian children. This monster hasn’t won anything. He’s losing his grip on reality & the public,” wrote another.

Notably, social media sensation Jake Paul joined Trump on stage during the rally.

“I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office,” Trump praised the 27-year-old. “You have my complete and total endorsement.”

Paul has been a vocal supporter of Trump in recent years. He publicly endorsed the president during the 2024 US elections and has often defended his administration’s policies.

Responding to Trump’s comments on stage, Paul returned, “What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage."
