Months after Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge shattered box office records and emerged as one of Bollywood’s biggest pan-India successes, Jio Studios co-producer Jyoti Deshpande has hinted that the makers have something more planned for fans of the franchise.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Deshpande teased an upcoming announcement, sparking fresh speculation around Dhurandhar 3.
“We’re not done with Dhurandhar yet. We’ll hopefully have a surprise for the audience later this year. There’s something up our sleeves,” she said.

The statement has reignited conversations around the future of the action-thriller franchise led by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, especially after Dhurandhar 2 crossed the ₹1100 crore mark globally and performed strongly across both northern and southern markets.
While the makers have not officially confirmed a third installment, Deshpande’s remarks have fueled speculation that an announcement related to Dhurandhar 3 could arrive later this year.
The success of the second film significantly expanded the franchise’s footprint, with the film emerging as a rare Hindi blockbuster to achieve strong theatrical numbers in southern states as well.
However, actor Rakesh Bedi, who played Jameel Jamali in the films, had earlier downplayed the possibility of a direct continuation.
Speaking to Zoom previously, Bedi said, “I don’t think a third part will happen. But Dhurandhar is a franchise, and it can be made with some other actors at any given point of time. The story ends with the spy going back to his nation.”
His comments had led many fans to believe the franchise may move toward spin-offs or a larger cinematic universe rather than a direct sequel.
Yami Gautam says success hasn’t changed Aditya Dhar
Amid the growing buzz around the franchise, actor Yami Gautam also reflected on the overwhelming response to Dhurandhar and said the success has not changed filmmaker Aditya Dhar personally.
In an interview with Grazia, Yami described Dhar as grounded and unaffected despite the scale of the franchise’s achievements.
“Nothing has changed us as people. That also comes from Aditya, and the kind of person he is — very unaffected and extremely humble,” she said.
She added that spirituality and gratitude remain central to both their lives despite the commercial highs that followed the films.
The Dhurandhar franchise has become one of Bollywood’s most commercially successful action properties in recent years, helping revive theatrical momentum for Hindi cinema while expanding its reach across regional markets.
With the makers now teasing a “surprise”, fans are waiting to see whether Dhurandhar 3 is officially on the horizon or if a new chapter in the franchise is about to begin.
