Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who created a buzz in the cricket world with his exceptional talent, once again impresses people outside the field after being appreciated by none other than Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan for his impressive feats. The 15-year-old batsman is turning out to be one of the stars in the Indian Premier League tournament going on at present by scoring an impressive 776 runs in 16 matches.

In reaction to what Vaibhav has achieved, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media and compared the feats of the youngster with his own childhood.

"Sooryavanshi — The amazing 15-year-old Soorya. At that age, I couldn't even play marbles or gulli danda properly," Bachchan wrote. The actor's remarks quickly gained attention online, with fans celebrating the recognition coming from one of India's most respected film personalities.

Praise pours in from sporting icons

Bachchan is not alone in applauding the youngster's performances. Earlier, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also praised Sooryavanshi's batting technique and fearless approach at the crease.

In a post on X, Tendulkar highlighted the young batter's footwork and ability to create scoring opportunities. "Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's bat swing has been outstanding. What's even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs," Tendulkar wrote.

He added that the teenager's innings had been "nothing short of spectacular." The praise from two of India's most recognisable personalities reflects the growing excitement around Sooryavanshi's emergence as a future star.

A breakthrough season

The impressive performance of Sooryavanshi has contributed to making him one of the most talked-about cricketers of this year’s IPL campaign.

His aggressive approach at the crease and maturity under pressure have won him praise from all quarters, including many former cricketers and coaches, while his total runs earned this year have put him among the most productive batters in the tournament. This is indeed all the more impressive considering his age. It has also generated debate about the level of talent being churned out of India's cricket development program.

Bachchan dismisses health rumours

This post was made by Bachchan after speculations started to arise on social media suggesting that he had been admitted to hospital.

As reported by PTI, the rumors were not true, with sources revealing that Bachchan only went to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai for a regular check-up and then left the place to go back to his house.

"He went in for a routine health check-up and came back home. He usually goes every month for a check-up," the source told PTI. The actor later shared a cryptic Hindi poem on his personal blog, prompting further discussion among fans online. However, what attracted much more interest than any of those posts was the message Bachchan made on behalf of Sooryavanshi.
