The first look of Raaka, the much-anticipated collaboration between Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee, was unveiled on Wednesday, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. The project, which was earlier referred to as AA22 x A6, now has an official title and a striking visual identity.
Backed by Sun Pictures, the film also stars Deepika Padukone in a lead role. While the makers have kept the storyline and genre under wraps, the first look has already generated strong reactions across social media.

A dramatic transformation
The poster offers an entirely contrasting appearance for Allu Arjun. In his new avatar, the actor is seen with a bald head, black eye makeup, and prominent marking on the forehead. He is also seen holding claw-like elements, hinting at a fierce, possibly primal character.
The entire poster has a dark and artistic approach to it, making us wonder if Raaka will be of a completely new genre compared to what the actor was last seen doing.
Fans quickly took to social media to react, with many calling the look “jaw-dropping” and praising the scale and ambition hinted at in the visuals.

Big-scale vision, global collaboration
Although plot details remain undisclosed, earlier glimpses have indicated that the film is being mounted on a grand scale. A behind-the-scenes video released last year showed the team travelling to Los Angeles to collaborate with international VFX artists.

Industry professionals associated with major Hollywood productions such as Iron Man 2 and Transformers were seen discussing the project, with one describing the script as something “unlike anything” they had encountered before.
The film marks Allu Arjun’s 22nd project and Atlee’s sixth directorial venture, bringing together two major forces from different corners of Indian cinema. Raaka is expected to hit theatres in 2027.
