Director Aditya Dhar was reportedly busy till 2:30 am on Thursday finalising the final touches of the film âDhurandhar: The Revengeâ due to the last-minute disruptions that led to the cancellation of paid preview shows of the film across various cities.
The film, featuring Ranveer Singh, was finally released on March 19 without any reports of technical issues following the initial hiccups.

Last-minute cancellations of paid preview shows
Several preview shows scheduled for Wednesday evening were abruptly cancelled in parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and New Delhi. Theatre owners cited technical issues and delayed content delivery, particularly for dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu.
The cancellations triggered backlash online, with fans expressing frustration over the lack of clarity just hours before release.
Mukesh Chhabra praises Dharâs ârare dedicationâ
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared a note on social media highlighting Dharâs effort to stabilise the release.
âThis morning at 2:30 a.m., he was still working, giving everything to the film till the very last moment. That kind of dedication is rare,â Chhabra wrote.
He added that the film could âshake everythingâ at the box office, expressing confidence in its impact.

Director responds to disruption
Aditya Dhar spoke about the situation in a statement, in which he acknowledged the problems and reassured the audience about the revised schedules.
âDhurandhar is not just a film for us⊠it is something we have lived with and dreamed of sharing with each of you,â he said.

He confirmed that most Hindi shows went ahead as scheduled from 5 pm, while Tamil and Telugu shows were rescheduled to later in the evening. Malayalam and Kannada shows were rescheduled to the next day due to technical problems.
Despite the problems, the screening of Dhurandhar: The Revenge went off as scheduled in theaters on Thursday. The film is creating a buzz before its release and is expected to have a strong opening at the box office.
