Martial artist and Hollywood action star Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, his family confirmed on Friday. Best known for his role in Walker, Texas Ranger, Norris passed away on Thursday morning.
Family confirms passing
The news was shared through a statement posted on his Instagram account, where the family described the loss as sudden and deeply personal.
"It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family," the family said in an Instagram post.
A life of discipline and impact
Norris' family reflected on his life and the influence he had on people across the world through his work and values.

"He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends," they added.
The family also requested privacy during this time.

Recent health update
Reports indicate that Norris fell ill on Thursday while on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Just days earlier, he had celebrated his 86th birthday and shared a video of himself boxing.
