Panchayat Season 5 announced: Phulera’s story continues with fresh tensions and challenges

Fans of the much-loved series Panchayat have a fresh update to look forward to. Season 5 has been officially announced as part of Prime Video’s 2026 release slate event held in Mumbai, confirming that the story of Phulera is far from over.

A new phase for Abhishek

As per a report by Times of India, the upcoming season will continue Abhishek’s journey as he navigates life in the village. This time, he is set to face a tougher work environment under a new leadership described as strict and vengeful. While Abhishek remains focused on his long-term goal of pursuing an MBA, the makers indicate that unresolved issues in Phulera will demand his attention first.

The storyline is expected to build on these tensions, placing Abhishek at a crossroads between his ambitions and responsibilities in the village.

The team behind the series

Panchayat is produced by The Viral Fever and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, with writing by Chandan Kumar. The show has earned a strong following for its simple storytelling and grounded portrayal of rural life.

The cast continues to feature Jitendra Kumar in the lead role, supported by Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Saanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar.

Looking back at earlier seasons

The previous season, Panchayat Season 4, was released on Prime Video on June 24 last year. Season 3, which arrived earlier, focused on village politics, local elections, and everyday challenges faced by the residents, including the long-standing demand for proper road infrastructure in Phulera.

Over time, the series has also touched on themes such as grief, community bonding, and shared struggles, contributing to its popularity among viewers.

With Season 5 now confirmed, the next chapter promises to revisit familiar relationships while introducing new conflicts in Phulera’s evolving landscape.
