Those close to her say the Netflix setback has only strengthened her resolve. Sources told RadarOnline that she is treating the situation as motivation rather than defeat, with a clear drive to build something credible and lasting independently.

The Netflix setback that changed everything
The couple, who infamously stepped back from royal duties in 2020, had built their media ambitions around a reported $100 million Netflix deal. Their docuseries, Harry & Meghan, was a hit. But the streaming giant has since cooled on the partnership. Projects, including an adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake, remain in limbo.
As per the report of RadarOnline, an insider stated, "What's happened with Netflix has really sharpened Meghan's thinking. She now feels completely ready to 'go it alone' and drive her career forward on her own terms, rather than waiting for joint opportunities to come together."
Career shift as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle take different paths
The insider further said, "There's an increasing awareness on her side that relying on shared projects with Harry isn't necessarily the best path anymore, particularly as their interests and priorities continue to move in different directions."
While Meghan Markle accelerates, Prince Harry has pulled back. Insiders say he found the entertainment world "tiresome" and "tiring." His attention has shifted toward philanthropy, most notably the Invictus Games.
It is said that the media space never felt like a natural fit for him, despite his early efforts to support Meghan Markle's vision.
