OpenAI could be preparing to bring its video-generation capabilities to ChatGPT, according to recent reports and app-level findings. The development, if confirmed, would mark a major expansion of the chatbot's creative tools.
Signs of integration spotted in app
A report by Android Authority cited by Times Now claims that traces of video-generation features have been found in the latest version of ChatGPT's Android app (version 1.2026.076). The findings reportedly emerged during an Android package (APK) teardown, a method used to examine unreleased features within app code.

According to the report, several text snippets suggest that video creation tools may soon be accessible within ChatGPT. Among the phrases identified were, "Video in ChatGPT is here" and "Transform text and image into video with dialogue, soundtrack and style".
Other lines discovered include "Try it with a photo", "Create video" and "Explore, create and share videos". These elements appear to be part of a potential user interface, hinting at features that could be rolled out in a future update.
What the leaks indicate
While the snippets point towards video-generation functionality, the report notes that Sora is not explicitly mentioned in the code. However, the capabilities described closely resemble OpenAI's Sora tool, known for turning text prompts into videos.
It is also suggested that OpenAI may choose to keep the Sora branding separate, even if the technology is integrated into ChatGPT. Earlier reports indicated that the company plans to maintain both a standalone Sora app and a browser version alongside any in-app integration.
Availability still limited
At present, Sora is not widely available across regions, and its Android version remains limited to select markets. The potential integration into ChatGPT could expand access, though no official announcement has been made.

The report emphasises that these findings are based on leaks and should be viewed cautiously. Still, the presence of such features in the app code suggests that video creation within ChatGPT may be under active development.
