A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped and assaulted inside a moving van for nearly three hours before being pushed out of the vehicle on the Gurugram–Faridabad Road, police said. The assault left her with serious facial injuries that required 12 stitches.
According to details reported by Times Now, the incident took place late Monday night after the woman accepted a lift in a van when she was unable to find public transport around midnight.
Police said two men were already inside the vehicle when the woman boarded it. Instead of taking her home, the accused allegedly drove through isolated stretches of Faridabad, holding her captive inside the van as dense fog and low traffic reduced visibility on the road.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman’s family, a case was registered at Kotwali police station, and a crime branch team detained two suspects on Tuesday, police sources said.
Victim pushed out of van near Raja Chowk
As per the complaint, the woman had left her home around 8.30 pm after an argument with her mother. She informed her sister that she was going to a friend’s house and would return soon. However, when she attempted to return late at night, transport services were unavailable.
She then accepted a lift offered by the two accused.
Police said the van was driven towards the Gurugram–Faridabad Road and taken beyond the Hanuman temple on the stretch. The woman reportedly screamed for help during the ordeal, but her cries went unheard due to cold weather, heavy fog and sparse traffic.

The family has alleged that the two men took turns to rape her inside the moving vehicle.
Around 3 am on Tuesday, the woman was allegedly pushed out of the van near Mula Hotel at Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar while the vehicle was still in motion. Despite her injuries, she managed to contact her sister, who rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
Police said further investigation is underway.
