With C. Joseph Vijay leading TVK to emerge as the single largest party in Tamil Nadu's 2026 Assembly elections, details from the actor-politician's financial affidavit filed with the Election Commission (EC) have drawn widespread attention.

According to the 27-page affidavit submitted on March 30, 2026, Vijay has declared a total net worth of Rs 624 crore, reported Money Control citing the figures from Election Commission of India affidavit (Form 26) filed by C. Joseph Vijay, March 30, 2026; ADR/MyNeta affidavit archive (Association for Democratic Reforms).

Rs 213 crore parked in a savings account

The biggest highlight in the affidavit is a staggering Rs 213.36 crore balance held in a savings account at Indian Overseas Bank's Saligramam branch as of March 27, 2026, per a Money Control report.

The amount is not listed under investments or market-linked instruments but as a regular savings account balance. It alone makes up more than one-third of Vijay's declared wealth.

Apart from this, Vijay has declared fixed deposits worth Rs 100 crore across Axis Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, HDFC Bank and State Bank of India branches in Chennai. Together, over Rs 313 crore of his wealth is reportedly held in bank deposits and fixed-return instruments.

Limited exposure to stock market

Despite his massive fortune, Vijay's exposure to equities remains minimal. His declared stock holdings total just Rs 19.37 lakh.

These include shares in Jaya Nagar Property Pvt Ltd valued at Rs 19.03 lakh, along with smaller holdings in Indian Overseas Bank and Sun Paper Mill Ltd. The affidavit does not mention any investments in mutual funds, bonds or debentures, per Money Control.

Properties worth Rs 220 crore

Vijay's real estate portfolio includes residential, commercial and land holdings spread across Chennai and nearby regions.

Residential properties in areas such as Neelankarai, Saligramam, Mylapore and Egmore are valued at around Rs 115 crore. Commercial assets in Parivakkam, Thyagaraya Nagar, Sholinganallur and Koppur are valued at nearly Rs 82.8 crore.

One of the largest purchases listed is a 2.30-acre commercial property in Koppur village bought in November 2023 for Rs 35.81 crore.

The affidavit also lists agricultural land in Kodaikanal and non-agricultural land in Porur, Saligramam and Neelankarai.

Luxury cars, jewellery and loans

Vijay has declared a vehicle fleet worth Rs 13.52 crore, including a Lexus 350, BMW i7, Toyota Vellfire and Tata Caravan.

He also declared gold and silver assets, while his spouse Sangeetha Vijay separately listed jewellery, diamonds and deposits worth Rs 15.76 crore.
