A 32-year-old truck driver lost his life after his vehicle rammed into a road divider and overturned near the Okhla underpass in southeast Delhi. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, following a separate collision involving a motorcycle.
Hit-and-run before fatal crash
According to the Hindustan Times, the driver had allegedly hit a motorcycle near a petrol pump in the Sarita Vihar area before fleeing the spot. Two people riding the bike, a man and his wife, were injured in the collision and later taken to the hospital. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Driver loses control near Okhla underpass
While attempting to escape, the driver reportedly drove rashly and lost control of the truck near the Okhla underpass traffic signal. The vehicle then crashed into a divider, climbed onto it, and overturned. Police received a PCR call around 1 am and rushed to the spot, where they found the truck overturned and the driver lying unconscious nearby. He was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors declared him dead.

The deceased has been identified as Lokendra, a resident of Kasganj district in Uttar Pradesh. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events.
