The government and the Opposition parties have agreed to lift the suspension of eight MPs, who were suspended from attending the Lok Sabha for the remaining period of the Budget session for their unruly behavior during the session earlier this month.
The decision was taken during an all-party meeting convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday, according to official sources. The MPs’ membership is expected to be restored on Tuesday.

The suspension of the eight MPs of the Opposition parties had become a major issue of contention for the government and the Opposition, resulting in repeated protests by the MPs during the session.
Agreement reached on maintaining House decorum
It was decided in the meeting that no MP should approach the other side in protest, tear papers, or throw documents towards the Chair or climb on the tables of officials, as this is what has been criticised in recent times.
“All members would adhere to the established decorum and traditions of Parliament, and both sides would ensure such incidents are not repeated in future,” an official said after the meeting.
In the wake of the discussion held in the meeting, the Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a bulletin stating that MPs should not bring any banners, placards, sticks, or any other prohibited items in the Lok Sabha in order to maintain the decorum of Parliament.
The meeting was attended by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Congress leader K C Venugopal, Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy, and Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav, among others.
MPs suspended earlier in Budget session
The eight MPs had been suspended on February 3 after a motion moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, citing alleged “disruptive conduct” during Lok Sabha proceedings.
Seven of the suspended MPs belong to the Congress, while one represents the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Opposition parties had demanded the revocation of the suspensions, arguing that the move had disrupted parliamentary functioning and deepened the political standoff during the ongoing Budget session.
