At just 14 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has emerged as one of India’s most talked-about young cricketing talents. The Bihar-born batter will be honoured with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP), one of the highest civilian awards for children in India.
The award ceremony is being held in New Delhi, where Vaibhav is set to receive the honour from President Droupadi Murmu. After the ceremony, he and other award recipients will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an interaction aimed at motivating young achievers from across the country.
Vaibhav reached New Delhi on Wednesday to attend the ceremony. Due to his participation in the event, he will miss the remaining matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. While this means time away from competitive cricket, the national recognition marks a major milestone in his young career.
