The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the full schedule for the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League, confirming that the tournament will run from March 26 to May 3, 2026. The announcement was made under the leadership of PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. A total of 14 matches will be played in the tournament and is expected to feature an expanded format with eight teams, marking a significant step forward for Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.
Direct overlap with IPL 2026
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the announcement is the direct overlap between the PSL and the IPL. Expected to begin around the end of March and continue until late May, meaning the two major T20 leagues will run simultaneously for several weeks.

This scheduling overlap is likely to impact player availability, broadcasting viewership and global audience attention, as several overseas players traditionally participate in both tournaments.
A key season for the league
With increased competition from global T20 leagues, PSL organisers are aiming to strengthen the league’s position in the international cricket calendar. Despite the scheduling clash with the IPL, the PCB remains confident that the tournament will continue to attract top talent and strong fan engagement.
