With the upcoming season of IPL, organisers said that they are closely observing the ongoing LPG crisis in the country. Arun Dhamal, the chairman of the IPL governing council, stated that the situation is being carefully observed to assess whether it could affect arrangements during the tournament. The IPL, one of the biggest sporting events in the country, involves extensive hospitality and catering operations across multiple host cities. A shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), widely used for cooking in hotels, restaurants and stadium facilities, could potentially disrupt these arrangements if the supply crunch worsens
Possible impact on hospitality and logistics
Reports from several cities have indicated that hotels and restaurants are already facing limited LPG supplies. Some establishments have already informed that their current stock may last only a few days, forcing them to reduce many options.

Since IPL attracts a huge crowd, any prolonged LPG shortage could create logistical challenges. Hospitality services around stadiums and team hotels are a key part of the tournament experience, making a stable fuel supply essential.
No Immediate Change in IPL Plans
Despite the concerns, IPL authorities have clarified that there has been no decision to alter the tournament schedule. The league organisers remain confident that necessary arrangements will be made before the tournament begins.
