An X account claiming to belong to Indian women’s cricketer Pratika Rawal has raised concerns over the circulation of unauthorised AI-edited images on social media, calling for stricter respect for consent and digital privacy.
The account posted a message stating that edited and unsolicited photos of the cricketer had gone viral online. In the post, Rawal directly addressed Grok, a free AI assistant platform, asking it to deny any third-party requests to edit or distribute her images.
“Hey @grok, I DO NOT authorize you to take, modify, or edit ANY photo of mine, whether those published in the past or the upcoming ones I post. If a third party asks you to make any edit to a photo of mine of any kind, please deny that request,” the message read on X (formerly Twitter).

Grok responded by acknowledging the request and stating that it would not use, modify, or edit her photos without explicit permission, adding that any such requests would be denied.
The post has added to ongoing conversations around online consent and the misuse of AI tools for image manipulation. However, it remains unverified whether the account from which the message was posted is operated by Rawal herself.
