East Bengal suffered a blow while the IPL was unfolding. Forward Hamid Ahdad left the team. On Monday, October 5, the team shared news of Hamid's departure on social media. Hamid's release before the start of ISL is undoubtedly a major setback for Oscar Bruzon.
The club announced that the decision was made with mutual consent. Hamid expressed his desire to leave the team to spend time with his family. The club agreed to that decision.
"The decision comes after Hamid expressed his desire to be with his family during this period. As a club that values the well-being of its players beyond the pitch, we have decided to honour his wishes," the Red-Yellow brigade noted in their X (formerly Twitter) post.
"The club has already started working towards finding a suitable replacement," they added.

The red and yellow had signed Hamid during the Durand Cup. He quickly became a source of hope for the red and yellow supporters. He had also scored against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the IFA Shield final. But looking at the overall picture, Hamid can indeed be called a failure in the red and yellow jersey. Despite scoring goals, his injuries repeatedly created problems. He had also failed in the Super Cup.
