Jamshedpur FC produced a clinical and high-intensity display to thrash Chennaiyin FC 4-1 in the Indian Super League 2025–26 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. The emphatic victory helped the Men of Steel return to winning ways and climb to fourth in the standings with 18 points, while Chennaiyin FC remained stuck in 10th place with nine points after another disappointing outing.

Fast start sets the tone for Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur wasted no time in asserting dominance, pressing high and creating early chances through Nikola Stojanović and Madih Talal. Their intent paid off in just the seventh minute when Sanan Mohammed opened the scoring, finishing from close range after a low cross caused confusion in the Chennaiyin box.

The hosts continued to dictate play with sharp movement and attacking fluidity. Chennaiyin had a couple of opportunities on the counter, with Irfan Yadwad hitting the post, but they struggled to cope with Jamshedpur’s relentless pressure. The home side doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Raphaël Messi Bouli rose highest to head in Nikhil Barla’s cross, giving Jamshedpur a deserved 2-0 cushion at the break.

Sanan’s brace seals dominant win

Chennaiyin showed slight improvement after halftime but lacked cutting edge in the final third. Jamshedpur capitalised once again in the 58th minute as Sanan Mohammed grabbed his second goal, calmly rounding the goalkeeper after a quick transition to effectively put the game beyond reach.

The visitors briefly found hope when Prakadeswaran S curled in a stunning effort in the 68th minute, but Jamshedpur responded in style. A well-worked move involving Rosenberg Gabriel and Rei Tachikawa ended with Stojanović finishing from close range in the 78th minute to restore the three-goal advantage. Jamshedpur comfortably saw out the closing stages, underlining their superiority with a performance built on pressing, precision, and clinical finishing.
