India’s SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra is accelerating its push into electric mobility with plans to launch two fresh electric SUVs, the BE.07 and BE.09, as part of its Born Electric portfolio. These upcoming models build on the brand’s existing electric offerings and underline its strategy to capture a greater share in the fast-growing EV segment dominated by rivals and new entrants alike. According to the latest announcement, Mahindra has confirmed details about when buyers can expect these vehicles and how they fit into its broader electrification roadmap.
BE.07: Production SUV for 2027
Mahindra has officially confirmed that the BE.07, internally codenamed B07, will enter the market in 2027. The model is essentially the production version of the BE.07 concept first showcased at Mahindra’s Born Electric showcase in 2022, and it will ride on the company’s dedicated INGLO electric vehicle architecture, which underpins its current Born Electric SUVs Battery pack options are expected to range between approximately 60 kWh and 80 kWh, offering flexibility in driving range and performance. Design cues are expected to remain aligned with Mahindra’s modern electric aesthetic, blending sharp styling with functional form. The BE.07’s positioning suggests it will appeal to buyers seeking a family-friendly electric SUV with modern tech and efficiency.

BE.09: Sportier grand tourer
Alongside the BE.07, Mahindra is preparing a BE.09, a coupe-style electric SUV that promises a sportier and more dynamic design language. While Mahindra has not yet provided a firm launch timeline for the BE.09, industry speculation points to a launch possibly before or after the BE.07’s 2027 debut and potentially closer to 2028. The BE.09 is expected to feature a larger battery pack than current models, aimed at extended range for long journeys and a premium feature set intended to elevate cabin comfort and technology. As a grand tourer-orientated electric SUV, the BE.09 could attract buyers looking for a blend of performance, style and long-distance capability.
The launch of the BE.07 and BE.09 marks a significant expansion of Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup, following the roll-out of models such as the BE6, XEV 9E and XEV 9S. With growing demand for electric vehicles in India and globally, these new entrants could play a key role in Mahindra’s strategy to establish a stronger foothold in the EV market and offer consumers a broader range of choices in the SUV segment.
