A funny video by a US woman on Instagram praising India’s healthcare has gone viral, attracting attention on social media. The woman identified as Liz Bomes posted the clip on Instagram, jokingly calling Indian healthcare “really annoying” before explaining she meant how fast and easy it is to get treatment.

In the video, Bomes discussed how healthcare differs in the US. She says in India, people can see a doctor the same day and pay very little, while in the US, you have to wait a long time and pay a lot, which can make patients go in debt.

Accessible healthcare in India

Bomes says, “Here's something that's really annoying about India: healthcare actually works. Instead of waiting six months for an appointment or paying thousands of dollars just to get a basic blood test done, I can literally walk into a hospital, see a doctor the same day, and pay next to nothing.”

Her video quickly connected with viewers who appreciated how easy and affordable healthcare is in India. Many noted how this is very different from the US, where people often wait a long time and pay huge bills.

Comparison with the US healthcare system

Bomes continues, “Where's the suspense? Where's the dramatic, your insurance doesn't cover this moment? It's way more exciting in the US to call 50 different clinics, just to beg for an appointment, and then go into debt after. India stops making life so easy.”

Here's how netizens reacted

The video sparked many reactions online, with users sharing their thoughts and experiences. One commented, “As expected, this reel will not get reach because you appreciated India.” Another said, “India encourages Medical Tourism. Many patients from the well-developed countries are coming to India for major surgeries and it cost not even 25% of the cost in their country.” A third wrote, “Come to Kerala feel the good health care system.”

Bomes’s video shows that India’s healthcare is quick and cheap. It caught attention from people all over the world and made many speak about how healthcare should be easier to get. People are noticing how affordable and fast medical services can be.
