Indian rally racing veteran Hari Singh is still missing over 48 hours after a speedboat accident in the Maldives.
The accident happened in the early hours of Friday when a speedboat carrying seven people overturned in the sea. Industrialist Gautam Singhania was on board the speedboat and has been rescued and brought back to Mumbai.
In a report by Press Trust of India, Hari Singh and the captain of the speedboat are still untraceable. Sources told PTI that both Hari and the captain are suspected to have got stuck in a coral reef. However, no confirmation on their status has come from the authorities.

Search efforts underway
Two people are still missing after the boat they were in overturned. The rescue efforts are already in progress since the incident occurred, with the Maldivian government continuing to search for the missing persons in the area where the boat capsized.
There is no official confirmation regarding whether the missing persons are alive or not. However, sources confirmed that the situation is critical.
Who is Hari Singh
Hari Singh, 59, is regarded as one of India’s most accomplished rally drivers, with a career spanning decade.
Singh won the Indian National Rally Championship five times in the 1990s. In addition to this achievement, he also won the Asia Zone Rally Championship, which was his first international event.
Singh was born in Chandigarh and was nicknamed “The Flying Sikh” and “The Gypsy King” due to his rallying skills, particularly with the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. He later served as Head of Operations at JK Tyre Motorsport and worked as a chief instructor with Mercedes-Benz India.

In 2015, he was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Force Gurkha RFC India event held in Goa.
The news of Singh’s disappearance has triggered concern among motorsport enthusiasts and former colleagues, many of whom have taken to social media to express support and hope for his safe recovery.
