From Duster to Sierra: 5 SUVs set to hit Indian roads soon

Several new SUVs, including the new-gen Duster and Tata Sierra, are set to launch in India in the coming months, offering petrol, hybrid and EV options.

A fresh wave of SUVs is set to arrive in India over the next few months, with automakers focusing on new-generation models, facelifts and electric vehicles.

New-gen models and EVs in focus

One of the most anticipated launches is the new-generation Renault Duster, which is making a comeback with a modern design, updated interiors and turbo-petrol engine options. It is expected to be built on a new platform and could also get hybrid technology later.

Another major launch is the Tata Sierra EV, marking the return of an iconic nameplate. The electric version is expected to launch first, with petrol and diesel variants likely to follow later.

A new midsize SUV from Nissan is also in the pipeline. It will share its platform with the new Duster and is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026, targeting the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.

Facelifts and next-gen upgrades coming

Apart from all-new models, several popular SUVs are also getting major updates.

The Kia Seltos is expected to receive a full generational update with a redesigned exterior, improved interiors and more advanced tech features.

Meanwhile, the Mahindra XUV700 is likely to get a facelift with subtle design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining its existing engine options.

Overall, the upcoming SUV lineup highlights a clear trend, buyers will have more choices across petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains. With strong competition in the segment, these launches are expected to bring better features, improved performance and more value for customers in India.
