India has created history as a massive Tricolour was unfurled underwater in Andaman waters. A remarkable display beneath the sea in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has drawn attention after a giant Indian Tricolour was unfurled underwater, setting a Guinness World Record.
The event took place at Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) and was carried out as part of a coordinated diving operation involving multiple teams and agencies, as per News18.
Massive underwater Tricolour deployment
The flag used in the record attempt measured approximately 60 metres by 40 metres, making it the largest national flag ever unfurled underwater. It was carefully laid out beneath the sea in a highly structured operation involving trained divers working in coordination at Radhanagar Beach.
Hundreds of divers take part
The achievement involved a large team of divers, including personnel from the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, police, forest department, and other diving groups. Reports state that more than 200–223 divers participated in the operation to execute the underwater deployment.
The complex process required precise coordination to ensure the massive flag was successfully unfurled and stabilised underwater as part of the record attempt.

Guinness World Record confirmed
At the site, the achievement was formally recognised by a Guinness World Records adjudicator, who confirmed the record and presented the certificate to officials overseeing the event.
The administration described the feat as a result of teamwork and planning, involving multiple departments and trained professionals working together under challenging underwater conditions.
