Canada has deported two Indian nationals who are accused of involvement in serious criminal activities. They were linked to cases of shootings, arson, extortion, and auto theft. Authorities said that this move is part of efforts to stop organised crime. The update was shared by the Canada Border Services Agency on their X account.
Who is Arshdeep Singh:
According to IRB records by CBC news, Arshdeep Singh came to Canada on a student visa on August 2022. He was linked to arson in Ontario, a shooting in Edmonton, and extortion cases in Surrey. Authorities also connected him to auto theft and insurance fraud cases. He was arrested in Edmonton in November last year and deported under escort on January 19, 2026. Investigators found a video of him with Sukhnaaz Singh Sandhu and Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon. Sekhon is accused of orchestrating shootings at a Surrey-based café owned by Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath.
Who is Sukhnaaz Singh Sandhu:
Sukhnaaz Singh Sandhu was identified as a former leader of a gang called The Ruffians. Canadian authorities of 2020 identified him, who was 26 years old then, as a part of a violent group. According to CBC News, police said he spent years involved in risky activities like guns, fraud, stolen vehicles, and shootings. Under escort by officials, Sandhu was deported on February 3, 2026.
What reports and authorities said:
The Canada Border Services Agency said, âWe remove foreign nationals who threaten public safety.â It added that the deportations were part of efforts to disrupt extortion networks. Reports linked both individuals to a wider network involved in multiple criminal activities across Canada. An article in the crime blog âThe Dirty Newsâ described Sandhu as âa very out-spoken, outrageous, chaotic, demonic, angry, monstrous, violent and COCKY individual that gave these guys the status that they have today.â

In his affidavit, Sandhu said he had âno home, no shelter and no immediate family capable of supporting me in India.â The deportations highlight Canadaâs strict stance on crime and public safety. Authorities continue to act against individuals linked to organised criminal networks. The move reflects ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.
