Many people have already collected forms from government camps or applied online to receive benefits under the Yuva Sathi Prakalpa scheme. The state government began depositing money into beneficiaries’ bank accounts from March 7. However, several applicants have reported that they have not yet received the funds. In many cases, the application status is showing as ‘successful’, but the money has not been credited to their accounts.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed officials to resolve such issues quickly so that all eligible beneficiaries receive the financial assistance without delay.

The Chief Minister held an administrative meeting on Thursday regarding the LPG crisis. According to sources at Nabanna, she mentioned during the meeting that election dates could be announced at any time. Once the dates are declared, the model code of conduct will come into effect in the state. Mamata Banerjee has therefore instructed officials to expedite work on several new state projects before that happens.

Along with the Yuva Sathi scheme, the interim state budget also announced financial assistance for farm labourers. Applications for this scheme have already begun. Officials have been instructed to ensure that the financial aid reaches the bank accounts of farm labourers quickly for the upcoming kharif season.

According to sources at Nabanna, beneficiaries aged between 21 and 40 years are eligible to receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 under the Yuva Sathi scheme. This benefit can be availed for up to five years or until the beneficiary secures employment.

Although the payments were initially scheduled to begin from April 1, the state government started depositing the money from March 7 itself.
