Amid intense fighting between Iran and Israel and reports of major strikes on Iranian leadership targets, questions have emerged about the fate of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Conflicting reports initially fueled speculation that Khamenei may have been killed in recent US-Israeli strikes that targeted key locations in Tehran, including areas near his official residence.
However, the latest official statements from Iranian authorities indicate that Khamenei is alive, although he has reportedly been moved to a secure and undisclosed location for safety reasons.

Iran says Khamenei safe after strikes
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed in media interviews that the Supreme Leader survived the attacks and remains safe, dismissing claims of his death as unverified rumours. Officials also said Khamenei was not present at the targeted compound when the strikes took place, which may have saved him.
Earlier reports suggested that senior Iranian leaders, including Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, were among potential targets during the escalation, but both were later confirmed alive.
Despite this, uncertainty persists because of limited information from inside Iran and ongoing military operations. Iran has imposed communication restrictions and security measures, making independent verification difficult.

As of now, there is no confirmed report of Ali Khamenei’s death. He is believed to be alive and under heavy protection, though the situation remains fluid amid escalating conflict.
