Kuwait has announced the suspension of key congregational prayers as regional tensions escalate in the Middle East. The country’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs confirmed that Taraweeh prayers during the holy month of Ramadan, along with Thursday prayers, will be halted in all mosques until further notice.
Taraweeh prayers suspended nationwide
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs said Taraweeh prayers, which are special night prayers performed during Ramadan. It will not be held in mosques across the country until new instructions are issued.
Taraweeh prayers typically draw large congregations during Ramadan evenings, with worshippers gathering after the Isha prayer. The suspension marks a significant step, reflecting heightened precautionary measures amid the current security situation in the region.
