A small aircraft reportedly crashed into Beijing's tallest building on Friday afternoon, triggering a large-scale emergency response in the Chinese capital. The incident prompted the evacuation of the skyscraper as rescue personnel rushed to the scene. Casualties are feared, though there has been no official confirmation so far.
According to a CNN report, people inside the building were seen leaving the premises and gathering near the entrance. Fire engines, police vehicles and an ambulance were deployed outside the tower shortly after the incident.
Debris seen falling from China Zun
Videos circulating on social media captured dramatic scenes from the site. The footage appeared to show debris falling from the upper section of the skyscraper, while what looked like the aircraft's tail section was visible on the ground. A taxi with a shattered window was also seen near the building.

The aircraft is believed to have struck the CITIC Tower, widely known as China Zun. The landmark is the headquarters of the state-owned CITIC Group and is the tallest building in Beijing.

Heavy security around crash site
Authorities have tightened security around the area following the crash. A heavy police presence was reported near the building, with several roads leading to the site closed to traffic.
Police officers were also seen preventing people from taking photographs and directing bystanders away from the area as emergency operations continued.
