Woman claims stolen AirPods traced to Delhi government office, seeks help online

A woman has claimed her stolen AirPods are being tracked inside a Delhi government office using Apple’s Find My feature, sparking widespread attention online.

A viral post on X has gained widespread attention after Tanvi Gaikwad claimed that her stolen earphones are being tracked inside a central government building in New Delhi. According to her post, the Apple AirPods were stolen in Rishikesh. She said Apple’s Find My feature has since shown the device’s location at the headquarters of the Staff Selection Commission in Delhi. She also claimed that the device appears to be actively in use.

Gaikwad expressed her frustration online, saying she feels helpless despite knowing the exact location of her AirPods. She also pointed out the irony of the situation, suggesting that the person who allegedly took her device could be inside a government office.

Social media reacts, authorities yet to respond

According to NDTV, the post has crossed over three lakh views and has been widely shared, with many users reacting strongly. Several people expressed sympathy and frustration, highlighting the gap between advanced tracking technology and the limited action available to victims. Some users suggested tagging authorities and reaching out formally to recover the device. Others shared similar experiences, saying that even with accurate location tracking, recovering stolen gadgets remains difficult.

So far, neither the Staff Selection Commission nor Delhi Police has issued any public statement regarding the matter. As the post continues to circulate online, Gaikwad’s appeal for help remains active, drawing attention to both the power and the limitations of modern tracking technology.
