At Sriniketan, a new cattle shed is being built with proper arrangements for water and fodder. The cows will graze in a fenced open area during the day and be secured at night. Biogas generated from cow dung will be used to power street lamps in the Sriniketan area, while milk will be supplied to the hostels of Patha Bhavana for children. Organic fertiliser production has also begun in Sriniketan and Purba Palli by decomposing biodegradable campus waste for use in gardening.
