Bengaluru woman killed by stalker despite prior complaint, sparks safety concerns

A woman’s murder by a stalker in Bengaluru exposes safety gaps, despite prior complaints, raising concerns over harassment and failures in preventive action.

A 34-year-old woman was brutally killed in West Bengaluru by a man who had been stalking her. The incident has raised concerns over women’s safety and the handling of harassment cases.

Police said that the accused had been warned earlier, but the attack still took place.

Warning signs were ignored

As per reports, the accused man had been following the victim and harassing her for months, repeatedly asking her to reciprocate his feelings. Even after she refused and avoided him, he continued to harass her.

Reports say her family had filed a complaint against the accused earlier, but although he was warned, no strict action was taken against him.

Daylight attack shocks locals

According to reports, the accused intercepted her while she was returning home and stabbed her multiple times in a public area.

She was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. Her sister said, “He kept pestering her to talk. Because she refused, he did this,” as per News18 reports, highlighting the repeated harassment she faced.
