Hidden camera found in women’s washroom of Bengaluru cinema hall, one arrested

A young man present at the cinema hall was caught by viewers on suspicion of being involved in the incident. Sources said that some members of the crowd assaulted him.

A hidden camera was recovered from the women’s washroom of Bengaluru's popular Sandhya Theatre, located in the Madiwala police station area. Although the incident took place a few days ago, it came to light only recently, triggering concern among the public.

Police have arrested one person on suspicion of involvement and have begun investigating how the hidden camera was installed inside the washroom.

According to sources, the incident occurred on the day the popular Telugu film Nuvvu Naku Nachav was re-released at the cinema hall, which drew a large crowd. During the movie interval, a group of female viewers went to the washroom and noticed the hidden camera. The information soon spread among other viewers present in the hall.

Following this, the cinema hall authorities informed the police. Personnel from Madiwala police station reached the spot, recovered the hidden camera from the washroom, and brought the situation under control. The police also rescued the accused from the agitated crowd and took him into custody.

The accused is currently being interrogated. Investigators are examining when the camera was installed and whether any videos were recorded. Police are also probing whether others were involved in the incident. The recovered camera has been sent for forensic examination.

The incident has raised concerns over public safety. Madiwala police have assured a thorough investigation and stated that strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible.
