After days of persistent heat, several parts of South Bengal have finally received relief as rain brought temperatures down sharply across districts. Although showers paused briefly on Friday, the cooler conditions largely held. According to the India Meteorological Department, rainfall activity is set to resume from Saturday and intensify further in the coming days.

The weather office has indicated a strong likelihood of heavy rainfall in both Bardhaman districts, along with Birbhum and Murshidabad. Alongside the rain, strong winds are also expected in these regions. Forecasts suggest that rainfall will increase from Sunday onward, with the possibility of continued showers even on May 4, which coincides with the vote-counting day.
