A late-night raid by the Telangana Police’s EAGLE (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) team at the farmhouse of former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy in Moinabad led to the seizure of approximately two grams of cocaine, officials said.

The operation was conducted after police received information about an alleged drug party taking place at the property. During the raid, the police surrounded the farmhouse premises and deployed sniffer dogs to search for any concealed narcotic substances.

Authorities said several individuals were present at the farmhouse when the enforcement team arrived. Among those reportedly at the location were former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar and a Jaipur MLA. The presence of multiple political leaders at the scene has drawn attention and raised questions about the nature of the gathering.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Gautam said a tense moment occurred during the raid when a shot was fired.

“As soon as the police arrived, Delhi-based real estate businessman Namit Sharma fired one round from a gun. The gun belongs to Ritesh Reddy, the younger brother of Rohit Reddy. The gun has a valid license, but it was Narnit Sharma who fired it,” DCP Gautam said as per a report of ANI.

The police confirmed that narcotic substances were recovered at the scene. “Police also found two grams of white powder (drugs) at the party. A total of 10 people were present, including nine men and one woman. Among them were public representatives, real estate businessmen, and other businesspersons,” confirmed DCP Gautam.

The former MLA has denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He stated that he would resign from his position if proven guilty and challenged BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar to substantiate the accusations made against him.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and further details will emerge as the probe progresses.
