The application process for the Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2026 has begun, with candidates being able to apply online through the official recruitment portal of the Punjab Police.
As per the official notification, the application process began on March 10, 2026, and will close on March 30, 2026.
Interested candidates can submit their application forms through the official website, the Punjab Police Recruitment Portal. The recruitment drive aims to fill 3,298 constable positions in the state, including positions in both the District Police Cadre and the Armed Police Cadre.

Vacancy details and eligibility criteria
Of the total vacancies announced, 2,522 posts are in the District Police Cadre, while 775 posts are in the Armed Police Cadre, according to the notification released earlier this month.
Candidates applying for the constable posts must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. However, ex-servicemen can apply with a Class 10 qualification, as per the eligibility rules mentioned in the notification.
Applicants are also required to have studied Punjabi in their matriculation examination or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Punjab government.
The minimum age limit for applicants is 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 28 years for general category candidates, with relaxation provided to reserved categories in accordance with government rules.
Selection process and salary
The selection process will start with a computer-based written test. Then the candidates who have performed well in the written test will be selected for the Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test.
After the physical test, the candidates will be selected based on the verification of the documents. Then the merit list will be prepared.
The selected candidates will be offered a salary of Rs 19,900 as the starting salary according to the government pay scale mentioned in the recruitment notification.
