To improve passenger convenience and strengthen rail connectivity, the Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway has decided to introduce additional train services. As part of this initiative, steps are being taken to enhance connectivity between Sealdah and Gede. Beginning March 16 (Monday), several services will be introduced on a temporary, experimental basis.
Under the new arrangement, the 31227 Sealdah–Barrackpore Local has been extended up to Gede. The train will now run as 31931 Up Sealdah–Gede Special, departing from Sealdah at 9:28 AM and arriving at Gede at 12:07 PM.
Similarly, train number 31226 will operate as 31930 Down Gede–Sealdah Special. It will depart Gede at 8:26 AM and arrive at Sealdah at 10:57 AM.

Another change involves the 31431 Up Sealdah–Naihati Local, which will now depart at 4:50 PM and will also be extended up to Gede. The service will operate as 31933 Up Sealdah–Gede Special, departing Sealdah at 4:50 PM and arriving at Gede at 7:38 PM.
Railway authorities said these additional services are being introduced on a trial basis to improve travel options and connectivity for commuters along the route.
