The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 witnessed several record-breaking performances, impactful bowling spells and dominant team displays that shaped the tournament.

Batting statistics: Top run-scorers

Sahibzada Farhan of the Pakistan national cricket team finished as the highest run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 383 runs. He produced several big innings, including two centuries, making him the most prolific batter of the competition.

Other standout performers included Tim Seifert of the New Zealand national cricket team with 326 runs, and India’s Sanju Samson, who scored 321 runs. Samson played a crucial role during the knockout stages with several powerful hitting displays.

Bowling statistics: Leading wicket-takers

Several bowlers delivered match-winning spells during the tournament. Shadley van Schalkwyk of the United States national cricket team emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers with 13 wickets. India also shone in the bowling department, with Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy both finishing with 14 wickets, making them among the most effective bowlers of the competition.

Blessing Muzarabani and Adil Rashid also stood out with their strong performances.

Player of the tournament

The Player of the Tournament award was won by Sanju Samson. He scored 321 runs at an impressive average of 80.25, providing stability to the Indian batting line-up and delivering crucial performances in key moments.

Team performance and tournament records

The tournament also produced remarkable records. A total of 780 sixes were hit during the competition, reflecting the aggressive approach adopted by modern T20 teams. The 200-run mark was crossed 14 times, highlighting the dominance of batters throughout the event. India eventually won the final against New Zealand by 96 runs, sealing their strong campaign.
