Driven by affection, a grandmother boarded a train with her two minor grandsons to return from her daughter's house in Chennai to her home in Burdwan. However, she couldn't complete the journey. Before that, as a result of her daughter and son-in-law's search, railway police became active and rescued the grandmother along with her two grandsons when the train reached Kharagpur station.
Parents reach station, children sent to home
The daughter and son-in-law also arrived after receiving the news. However, due to administrative procedures, the children could not be handed over to their parents immediately. They were placed in a home. After the investigation process concluded regarding that incident from about a month ago, the West Medinipur District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) handed over the two children to their parents on Friday.

Grandmother’s emotional decision
The grandmother had a deep attachment to her grandsons, having been separated from them since their birth. Feeling sad, Shikha went to her daughter's house in Secunderabad. During her stay there, she occasionally expressed her desire to return home with her grandsons. However, the daughter and son-in-law did not take the matter seriously. Then one morning, Shikha took her two grandsons from school and departed by train toward Burdwan. When the worried parents couldn't find their children, they approached the police.
Railway police alert and rescue

Due to railway police activity, when the train reached Kharagpur station, the two minors and their grandmother were rescued. On the Child Welfare Committee's instructions, the two children, aged 10 and 7, were sent to Debra's Chakkumar (Kash) Home.
