A 32-year-old man accused of links to Iran-backed terror networks has reportedly been arrested over an alleged plot targeting US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, according to a report by the New York Post.
The suspect, identified as Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, was reportedly detained in Turkey before being extradited to the United States. Investigators allege that he planned to assassinate Ivanka Trump as revenge for the killing of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani in the 2020 US drone strike in Baghdad.
Investigators claim suspect targeted Trump family
According to the report, authorities alleged that Al-Saadi possessed a blueprint of Ivanka Trump’s Florida residence, where she lives with husband Jared Kushner.
Entifadh Qanbar, a former deputy military attaché at the Iraqi embassy in Washington, claimed the suspect had openly spoken about revenge after Soleimani’s death.
“After Qasem was killed, he went around telling people ‘we need to kill Ivanka to burn down the house of Trump the way he burned down our house,’" Qanbar told the publication.

The Arabic-language post allegedly warned Americans that “neither your palaces nor the Secret Service will protect you" and claimed surveillance operations were underway.
US authorities described Al-Saadi as an operative connected to Kata’ib Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Accused linked to multiple international attacks
The US Department of Justice has reportedly charged Al-Saadi over 18 attacks and attempted attacks across the United States and Europe.
Authorities accused him of involvement in incidents including the firebombing of the Bank of New York Mellon in Amsterdam, a shooting at the US consulate in Toronto and attacks targeting Jewish locations in Belgium and the Netherlands.
According to reports, investigators also linked him to failed attacks tied to the Middle East conflict.
Al-Saadi is currently being held in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
